Koru VTEX MCP

Connect a verified VTEX store to ChatGPT or Claude and query it in read-only mode.

Koru VTEX MCP lets ChatGPT or Claude query a VTEX store in read-only mode. The license is free, no card is required, and each authorization is limited to the website you select.

What each part installs

Koru VTEX MCP is obtained in Koru and added to your assistant as a private server. The separate Koru VTEX Connector app establishes the VTEX connection from VTEX Admin. This guide links to the Connector step when needed.

Create the account and get the app

Open Koru Suite

Go to korusuite.com, scroll to the app catalog, and open Koru VTEX MCP. Choose Create free account.

You do not need to find an MCP in a directory or publish a plugin. This is a personal connection to your own store.

Create and verify your identity

Register on the secure sign-in screen. Open the verification email, confirm the address, and return to Koru with I verified my email.

Use the same identity for onboarding, VTEX linking, and ChatGPT or Claude authorization.

Create the organization and website

Enter:

Business name;
Country;
the public VTEX store address, including https:// and the customer-facing domain;
the required legal confirmations.

Choose Continue. Koru creates the organization, website, and free Koru VTEX MCP license. Do not enter an Admin URL, workspace URL, or VTEX credentials.

Verify the website

In the dashboard open My websites, find the new website, and choose Verify ownership. Select one method:

Public HTTPS file: publish a text file at the exact address shown by Koru.
Domain record (DNS): create the TXT record with the exact name and value.

Choose Check verification. The expected result is Verified.

Open Koru VTEX MCP setup

Go to My apps → Koru VTEX MCP. The first card explains that VTEX still needs to be connected and offers Open VTEX Admin.

Get the private URL

After the store is connected, Koru shows Use it in ChatGPT or Claude. Copy the server URL. It has this form:

https://mcp.korusuite.com/vtex/PRIVATE_IDENTIFIER/mcp

The URL identifies your connection

Do not publish or share it, and do not use another store's URL. It contains no AppKey, AppToken, or VTEX credential.

Add it to ChatGPT or Claude

Enable developer mode

In ChatGPT open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode. Availability may depend on your account or workspace policy.

Create the personal plugin

Open Plugins, choose +, and enter:

Acknowledge the custom MCP server warning and choose Create. Do not publish it to a public directory.

Authorize the store

Choose Sign in with Koru VTEX MCP, sign in to Koru, and review Connect ChatGPT with Koru. Confirm the store and requested access.

Back in ChatGPT, confirm that the server tools are listed. Start a new chat and add Koru VTEX MCP from the tools menu.

Paste this prompt into a new chat with Koru VTEX MCP enabled:

Use Koru VTEX MCP exclusively in read-only mode.
 
1. Identify the VTEX account, workspace, sales channel, country/locale, and currency.
2. Find up to 10 published products and select 3 representative SKUs.
3. For each SKU, check price, inventory, and sellability. You may simulate checkout
   only if it creates or changes no cart, order, price, or stock.
4. Return a table with: product, SKU, price, stock, sellable, detected issue, and evidence.
